First Generation in the New World

1. ALLESTER MACKMALLEN, was born about 1631 in Scotland1 and died at Salem, Massachusetts on 20 Apr 1679.2 He married before 28 Sep 1658, ELIZABETH HOLGRAVE/HOLGROVE.

Biographical Notes:
1. While in his native SCOTLAND he was friends and neighbors of “Arsbell Anderson” [Archibald Anderson a Dunbar POW] and “Allister Greime” [Probably #50. Alexander Grimes, #35 on Scots at Lynn 1653. Iron Works Inventory?]. He says that Anderson’s and Grime’s mothers were kin in Scotland.
2. He came to Salem before 1658 and lived at 49 St. Peter Street.4
3. They had the following children (she being enceinte at his death) ~ Elizabeth
4. Wife Elizabeth Holgrave was the dau. of Joshua Holgrave and Jane Conant.

“Henry Bragg was in Salem, Ma by 1677 when he married 1. Elizabeth Mackmollen/Mackmillion 17 Dec 1677. She is DO Alister Mackmollen. We know that Henry was in Salem now from Salem Witch transcript until after Dec 1692, but was in Bristol by Aug of 1693. By 1717, he was in Attleborough where he married 2. Sarah Luther Nov 1717. He died intestate in Attleboro before 4 Nov 1723, his son Henry was admr. of estate and was presented to probate by Sarah, it only mentions son William.
