  1. Dan Hamilton says:

On my website, http://www.brookfieldsresearch.com, I have documentation for Alexander Stuart a tailor of Marlborough, MA who came to Brookfield in 1719 and held land next to John Hamilton on the east side of Quaboag Pond. He was still here and teaching in 1758.

You can also find info in Temple’s History of North Brookfield, page 201
    https://books.google.com/books/reader?id=rHmAAAAAIAAJ&printsec=frontcover&output=reader&pg=GBS.PA201

Search for Stuart and Stewart in the Temple book.

The Forbes/Forbush family also came to Brookfield.

  2. Robbie Payne says:

    Teresa,

Thank you for designing and maintaining this informative site – such a wealth of information. Do you have additional information regarding John Stewart, son of Alexander Stewart, born in 1667 and died in 1704 in Lewes, Delaware? I’m trying to discern if Alexander’s John is the same ‘Dr.’ John Stewart who was born the same year and died in Lewes, Delaware in 1704. There seems to be much debate about Alexander’s John. I appreciate any and all information you have on John or the Stewart family.

    Thank you,

    Robbie

  3. Lori Bruner Okamura says:

    As mentioned by Robbie above–
I have Dr. John Stewart as the son of Alexander but the locations of his birth and death make me question if he is the same John. If they are not the same person, I will apparently lose my connection to Alexander Stewart.

    Any help will be appreciated!

  4. Margaret Stewart Van Patten says:

Hi! I am trying to find out anything about what became of POW William Stewart, including whether he may have been a sibling or related to Alexander. My family tree has a missing elusive link between Connecticut USA and Scotland in the mid 17th century, named William Stewart, and I wonder if this POW could be the one. Appreciate any information. Thanks.
